Listen. Trust Your Voice!

Listen. Trust Your Voice!

“Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.” ~ Leo Buscaglia

A little good news to start off with ~ last Friday my partner and I eloped! Everything aligned and in one moment we decided to go with the flow of the universe. Within 72 hours of deciding, we followed our hearts and got married! It was a lovely day! For photos – find me on facebook and friend me 🙂

When I think of the last two years and how freeing it feels to have distentangled myself from my life of shoulds, it is very clear to me that I have to be very clear on what I want.

I think that before and for so long I would say things like, “Oh, it doesn’t matter” or “This is just the way it has to be” or “This is what they want – it is just easier” or “It’s okay it isn’t that important.”

I lost my voice. I lost what it was that I really wanted. And I lost the faith and belief that all was possible.

I remember one time I walked into a small bookstore and said to the clerk, “I need something (pause), can you help me find meaning?” How odd and sad I must have looked standing there. I remember the tears filling my eyes and the intense feelings of helplessness.

“Every time I’ve done something that doesn’t feel right, it’s ended up not being right.” ~ Mario Cuomo

Little did I know that this moment and many others similar during this very dark period of my life, created a place for deep gratitude, appreciation and desire to live a purposeful, happy and peaceful life.

Follow your heart! Listen to your voice! It will lead you to great places!

Thank you for your time today ~ Enjoy!

Embrace Your Uniqueness!

I live in the Dominican Republic and am blessed to be surrounded by beauty in so many forms; however it is the people here, both men and women that teach me the most about beauty, beauty of spirit and faith, family, community and attitude and also the powerful lesson of body acceptance and confidence!

Most men here are not shy in hiding their admiration for a beautiful woman. And time after time I have watched all shapes and sizes of women receiving this “admiration” and strutting and “workin’ it” as they walk down the street. I am amazed and excited and inspired at the confidence that most women exude no matter what their weight or appearance.

I love watching their steady gaze, their tiny smirk and the slow, swinging of their hips. I am much more meek in my gait but I think a little has rubbed off 🙂 Here is what I have learned so far while living in the Caribbean:

  • Choose clothes that fit your form – avoid oversized baggy clothes!
  • Experiment with different styles and colours ~ Have fun!
  • Maintain a good posture, head held high and confident expression 🙂
  • Accessorize girlfriend!!
  • Avoid black and wear colour near your face
  • Choose the right neck line for your body and stick with it!

And watching these body loving confident people on the dance floor is another experience entirely. Beautiful. Smooth. Sensual.

Time is much too short to be living someone else’s life.”

Long Distance Love

Long Distance Love

Long distance love can be very difficult and deciding whether or not to continue is a challenging situation. Especially when everyone and everything seems to be against you. This was a situation that someone presented to me to receive advice for and here is my answer:

“When we are amidst the emotions it is difficult to gain clarity. I was given a great exercise to try the other day about pretending to board a helicoptor and see your situation from the air as an observer. Try it.. and see if that helps you sort some of it out..

Another way to gain clarity is to journal at least once per day for as little or as long as you want – practice being truthful with yourself.Sometimes the messages that we hear that effect us deeply are the ones that we don’t want to believe because they have touched a place of truth within us.

Each challenging situation in our journey is there for us to grow from and whatever lesson it is that is presenting itself does so to teach us something – so why do you think this is in your life? What is here that you need to learn from?

The Law of Attraction is also about being grateful for the goodness that already exists in your life and focusing on feeling good and then aligning yourself with more things that feel good. And yes, it does mean that you can only change yourself and your own energy and then the shift in energy will move outward into the world from you. So listen to your needs and what you want and if you feel good and uplifted then that is what is right for you in this moment.

I hope that this helps – a mantra I use when I feel a little emotional or struggling to gain awareness in the moment ~ peace, peace, peace until I feel peace through my body. God has a plan we sometimes we simply have to trust that all will make sense in the future looking back.”

Share Your Dreams!

Share Your Dreams!

“If you can imagine it you can create it. If you can dream it, you can become it.”

Ward, William Arthur

Good Afternoon!! Last week I wrote about ensuring that your goals are yours and not what you think you should have or want etc..

I received a few emails saying that this topic was really helpful and because I love talking about goals ~ I decided to share another tip:

Share and speak regularly about your dreams and goals with someone else.

Think about the past, was there ever a time when there was something that you really wanted but didn’t get? Did you end up dismissing the idea, dream or goal because it seemed unobtainable, silly or ridiculous?

What would have happened if you would have told someone about that dream? Well, try it today and find out. Here is an exercise I use in my coaching practice.

Think about something that you have always wanted in your life. I am talking really, really wanted – something that when you think about it, your heart beats faster and you smile.

Now write it out completely describing everything you see, feel, hear, taste, touch and smell and then choose someone to share it with – someone you can trust and ask them to simply listen.

Now describe to them the picture you have of your ideal mate, body, career, home or health. Use sensory descriptors – take them into the picture with you.

What you will find is that once these words escape your mouth they become more real and you see that new ideas and opportunities form because your dream is looking for ways to take form. AND because someone knows about your dream and goal – you are held more accountable!

Another reason to share with others is that, it is quite possible that the person you shared with will connect you with ideas, resources or people that will lead you further along in your journey. So please try it and share your dreams! :o)

In light of this topic: I would like to share my intention and dream with you ~ “My goal is to expand my business and reach more people, sharing inspirational and empowering information to help people align with their ideal lives and evolve toward their potential.”

Please help me by sharing with me your experience in a few sentences and whether the content in the Embrace Change Ezine or the Embrace Your Life Transition Blog has inspired or empowered you in any way.

I would like to post your words onto my website with the hope that your experience may inspire someone else along their journey and also to help me in meeting my goal of reaching more people in my work.

lf you are interested, please include your experience and if you would agree to let me post your name and city (and website if you have one) on my website as testimonial of the quality information that I share.

Thank you sincerely for your time and consideration of my request. Best wishes as you open yourself up and share your dreams with the world! Enjoy!!

And if you didn’t download it from last week.. here is an additional resource to help you clarify and manifest your goals – Download the FREE Goal Setting Worksheet

Where were you one year ago?

Where were you one year ago?

“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun” ~ Katharine Hepburn

Many of us spend a lot of time thinking about the future. We try to get things right. We set goals for ourselves and work hard to strive for them and we often do reach them.
Consider where you were just one year ago. Look at how much has changed? Look at all of the things that you brought into your life! Based on where you were just one year ago, is your life going in the direction you want?

Do you ever wonder why some goals seem out of reach? You know the ones that are at the bottom of the to-do list and have a sort of nagging feeling about them…

Are those goals based on shoulds?

Consider your life and how much time you spend doing things that you like to do. Grab a pen and make a quick list of one day, one week and write out all of the activities or time spent with people that bring you joy.

Is there fun in your life? Are you fun to live with?

Yes, we have children and work responsibilities but we think we have to do this and we have do that and somewhere in there we forget we have a choice. Rushing through life can feel like a burden of just getting through the day, the week.

But what if we removed the need to do things and replaced it with wanting to do things – how would your life change?

Imagine now that you are able to do all of the things you want to do. Imagine that you are in harmony with the moment and able to give 100% of your attention to work and 100% to your family. How does this feel? Do you feel good? Listen to the radio interview about Work/Life Balance below for more.

We have all heard about the law of attraction and that what we focus on and put energy into is attracted into our lives. Therefore if you are unhappy about a situation in your life ask yourself what am I contributing to this situation? And then choose a behaviour that moves you toward feeling good. Choose to hug your child, smile at a stranger, turn on some music, sing, dance, yoga, exercise, whatever makes you feel good!

Now, imagine yourself one year from now and reminisce about all that you have been blessed with and created in your life this year and feel really good about it! All is really possible!

Where is your head? In the moment or where you think you need to be?

Are you enjoying the moment being and giving full attention or are you thinking about all that you have to do or where you have to go?

Do you rush around trying to get it all done, doing everything you think you should be doing and wonder at the end of the day – why? Does your schedule include any time for you to replenish your energy?

Does taking an afternoon off to pamper yourself seem completely out of the question and overindulgent?

Listen to this 4 minute interview sharing tips and ideas on the topic of Work/Life Balance ~ Wishing you peace, purpose and harmony.
