I love writing on Sunday mornings. It is my sacred time. So here I am, deep in thought and because next week is Mother’s Day, my mom is on my mind.

While I was growing up, my mom committed herself to be involved in all of our activities. Often while we chilled in the evenings after dinner (one that she cooked) watching Wheel of Fortune, she left to go to the school association meetings or other fundraising volunteer activities that she believed in.

She drove us to all of our appointments, our after school jobs attended field trips, helped with homework and cooked, cleaned, scheduled etc…

She knew my friends and my teachers and tried her best to give me everything she knew how and more!

Often she sacrificed her joy for us.

She used to stay up late to clean and organize often till midnight, and then get up early and do it again.

She helped me pay for my education and set me up for my life when I left home for school at 18.
She wanted me to be independent. And I was. I am.

Only as an adult, can I see my mom’s contributions in my life for ALL that they are.

Sure she was sometimes stressed out and got upset and I remember being confused wondering what I did wrong.

But now I understand.

She gave me and my sister ALL of herself. And now as I live close to her again, I have the gift to see her play and enjoy her life fully.

She is deeply spiritual and through her journey, she taught me about meditation, angelic presence, divinity and energy therapies. She is my mom for a reason because I help people through what she inspired in me.
She recently got a record player and pulled out her old records igniting a crazy dance party; we twirled and laughed.

There was a moment when she danced with my daughter and the light came into the room surrounding them with brilliance. Time stopped. It was beautiful.

Day to day, we give (and give) but in those moments of the purest joy, we receive and our soul glows.
I wish you receive the purest of joy this week and that your soul glows! Whether your mom is with you physically or in spirit, know she is near.

Enjoy! With love, Kelly
