There is always a reason that people and in this case pets come into our lives. I believe that lessons continue to present themselves to us in many forms until we “get” it and learn what it is that we need to learn in order to move on and evolve.

We are surrounded by people that either help and support us while we are learning and others that are in our lives to teach us the hard lessons.

In my life, my puppy Chloe taught me how to love and accept love when I was going through the most difficult time in my life: after I struggled emotionally after a miscarriage and then divorce.

Look around – who are the people in your life supporting or teaching you?

Is it your pet, a friend, family member, colleague or neighbour that is always there for you? You know these people because they are the first you call or reach out to in times of joy and pain.

Who are the people that are teaching you? You know these people because they continuously present issues or situations over and over again that cause anxiety, irritation and deep thought.

Look for these repetitive themes in your life, these are hints of lessons not yet learned and these people are in your life as teachers.

“People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.” ~ Author Unknown

Acknowledging that it is hard to be grateful for the gossipy colleague, the heartbreaker boyfriend, the overbearing family member or the competitive friend but when you can create that space between yourself and the situation and look for the lesson that exists, you dismantle the mystery and loosen the grip that others have on you – and this is very empowering! Enjoy!
